Gerrad’s Cross Tunnel

Description:
This project involved the reconstruction of a rail tunnel to enable a new Tesco supermarket to be built, whilst retaining a live rail track. NBC Limited was commissioned to provide specialist labour for ground works, preparation and completion of temporary works, ready for the placement of tunnel sections over a live rail track.
The main contractor exceeded well over 3 million man-hours without a RIDDOR reportable incident in the construction period of over four years. NBC Limited has a commitment to health & safety, as demonstrated by this achievement.
